Congestion in most ports leads to berthing delays, disruption in shipping schedules, vessel bunching and the overall expansion in ocean voyage sailing turnaround. This has also reduced shipping capacity and further expanded container turnaround on the ocean leg.
Thus, the Tanjung Bruas Port in Melaka has now been developed as a major Gateway to handle both Containers and Conventional cargoes to serve the growing industries in the Southern and Central Region of Peninsular Malaysia.
Tanjung Bruas Port is strategically located along one of the world’s busiest trade route at the centre and narrowest point of the Straits of Malacca. Situated within a large developed hinterland drawn from Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Northern Johor, the Port is surrounded by more than 500 companies.
Tanjung Bruas Port is also one of the five Malaysian Ports that has embarked on a major digital transformation, in partnership with global software solutions leader, Ramco Systems.
The export of our wood pellet shipping and warehouse storage have come under the spotlight. The Tanjung Bruas Port has served as an alternative route as the port is approximately 55km or 1 hour by road from our Factory. This, thus has economically benefited us in the land travelling time for our cargo to arrive at the port.
A typical shipping vessel can carry 15,000 tonnes of pellets at a time. We have also acquired a warehouse with the capacity of 15,000 MT storage in a single facility.
